Ticking Away

Our time in Savannah is ticking away and its beginning to set in. It's time to sit by the ocean while we still have the opportunity.

Making Babies

Me: Do you have a name for this baby?
Piper: "Chewla"
Me: "So is Chewla her formal name or just a nickname?"
Piper: "Actually her name is Becky, but I'll just call her Chewla"

Zucchini "Bread"

This is as close as I get to making baked goods anymore. It's really not a bad trade out in taste and it's nutritionally sound, also grain free. Piper and I are big fans of muffins and sweet breads, especially in the morning. Why yes, I will have some zucchini with my coffee. Here is the recipe, but based on my personal preference, use half the recommended salt.

Play

I love when our house looks tidy, which I admit is so rare, but there's something sweet about these little messes. Evidence of play.

I still call it home...

The kids and I had a pretty amazing trip. I enjoyed being a part of everyone's week, from drinking coffee by the lake with my parents, to tee ball games with my nieces and nephews. My brother-in-law planned an early surprise birthday for Sara. She was very surprised! I had my own birthday celebrations including dirt cake, cheesecake and strawberry shortcake. You'd think I'd be all caked out, but I'm not! Even after two and a half weeks with our families, leaving was still heartbreaking. It's a good thing I have a pretty great husband here in Georgia.

We made it!

Shortly after arriving at my parents house, some more of my favorite people showed up. It was a great day!

First Stop GG

My Grandma, who is affectionately called GG by her great grandchildren is conveniently on my way to Michigan. I stopped for a days rest and to visit with my Tennessee family. When we arrived in Knoxville, Miles smiled from ear to ear and reached right out for Grandma. It did her heart good, as well as mine. Piper spent quality time with her GG, playing go fish and memory, reading stories together and what would would my Grandma be without her infamous doll room. Walking in here, Piper looked as though she had struck gold. Funny thing is, I remember having that same sense of exhilaration myself. If you are wondering, my grandma made dolls for a living, a livelihood turned to passion. We ventured out to a local park to enjoy some sunshine. It was a short visit but we're looking forward to a little more time when we head back to Georgia.
