Easter Morning

A year has come and gone, thus the need for another Easter Egg Hunt video. There are many of you who requested it... and promised great bodily harm if it wasn't done... so with no further ado!

That is that! We are learning that Piper doesn't buy into the hype so much about Easter and Christmas that is worth forsaking sleep... which is awesome, but also is a parent buzz kill! There were about a dozen and a half eggs to start, she plowed through them in under 10 mins, which left me a proud father... the worry is starting to set in on whether or not we found them all... i guess a couple of weeks will tell.

We will close with the Piper quote of the day, "I found all the eggs, I need more candy!"

Sleeping Beauty

Oh, so much to share. Last week was a full one with many family members coming to visit. Broc's aunt, uncle and two cousins made it out for several days of shopping, eating seafood and kicking back on the beach. At the same time my aunt, uncle and two children came to Savannah to visit, and yes indeed another cousin came to stay with us for her whole spring break. With all the commotion and family fun it didn't even register to pick up the camera, which really bums me out.

Having been fearful to say goodbye to Piper's beloved "suckie," (which is our word for a pacifier) I needed a little nudge from my darling husband. Fearful only for selfish reasons of course, I didn't want to deal with the melt downs and the sleepless nights of crying for her bedtime companion. Well, it has begun and there is no going back now. We told her that there are babies who need her suckies and that seemed to go over well, until bedtime. It took a few hours, tears and compassionate snuggles for her to fall asleep, but she did and believe it or not, it did not kill her! Phew! I think (and pray) it will become easier after a few more nights of this. Sayonara suckie!

We wandered over to our local farmers market on Saturday, which I have been waiting and waiting for. We all enjoyed eating some locally grown, pesticide free strawberries. Broc and I were thrilled to find a local coffee roaster featuring his newest blend. Yum

St. Patrick's Day Shenanigans

Savannah has the 2nd largest St. Patrick's Day Celebration in the states. Who knew, right? The whole city shut down today in order to watch the 4 hour long parade! Our neighbors got an early start hosting a community green pancake breakfast, where there were 75 people in attendance (many of which were small and cute)!

As usually, Piper was a trooper throughout the parade and so was Broc, who had her on his shoulders for an extended period of time. Our favorite parts were the Budweiser Clydesdales, and the bagpipe marching bands.

This gentlemen felt his beer consumption gave him automatic marching band rights. I have to say he almost pulled it off if it weren't for a devoted officer of the law (of parades).

We had a fun experience that you won't have anywhere else. Tired little Pipe fell asleep on Broc as we made it back to our car. Apon arriving home, we all took a nice nap. What a day!

A Walk on the Wild Side

This morning we packed up our little family and visited Savannah's rescued animals at Oatland Island Wildlife Center. How great it was to be outdoors for the better part of a day. Walking the trails allowed us some light exercise as we filled up on fresh air and enjoyed God's clever creations. Piper is indeed speaking cow in this 2nd photograph. Also in the 7th photo down, it is difficult to see, but there are 2 cougars in the upper left hand corner (no, not old single women)

Party in Your Tummy! (stole that from a clementine sticker)

This is a scrumptious pesto and fontina sandwich at my new favorite hang out, Back in the Day Bakery. After Piper and I devoured a few bites, we decided it's deliciousness was worthy of a snap shot before the whole thing took residence in our bellies. This little bakery has excellent coffee, treats, and sandwiches, but they are famous for their Old Fashioned Cupcake. Yum! They even have bowls full of retro cupcake toppers, which is where the ballerina came from.

Piper quietly entertained herself for almost 2 hours of coffee time with a new friend. What an incredible little girl she is. Although, we've certainly had our moments, I feel beyond blessed to have such a bang-up kid.

Beach Day!

What beautiful, warm weather we've been having. We've been meaning to take a trip to the beach, so yesterday we traveled 25 minutes to Tybee Island. We have been informed by the locals, that Tybee beaches are the nicest around here, and we were not disappointed. We spent the day making sand castles with Piper and watching Pelicans swoop down into the ocean. Broc and I agreed that we could get used to this lifestyle for awhile.
