New Smyrna Beach

This was our first official vacation, and what a vacation it was. We had a spacious ground level condo with a great view of the ocean. Everyday was easy and relaxed without much of an agenda except swimming and sandcastles. While Piper played with the boys, Miles took extra long naps, giving Broc and I all this free time. I know, right? We are so glad we had the opportunity to spend time with much missed friends and enjoy a laid back vacation simultaneously.

Eggcellent!

Our morning was spent dying Easter eggs. Piper is quite good with eggs. She is aware of how delicate they are and can even crack an egg perfectly while helping me in the kitchen. Honestly!

We look forward to presenting our finished designs, but for now the eggs are drying.

I'm realizing how difficult it is to relay Easter's meaning to Kids. Thankfully Piper has awesome sunday school teachers. On our way home from Church, she reminded us of what happened on Palm Sunday. When Piper talks or sings about Jesus in such a way that a child does, I feel so incredibly humbled. I'm filled with this unworthy, ridiculous, sickening plea for her to someday know the grace that she sings about. I'm ending this post with a heavy sigh, because her fate is out of my control and I know it's better off that way.

Surprise, it's Miles! He is still a little wobbly, but he can hold himself up for several seconds before loosing his confidence. This is such a great stage of his life.

We are going to be traveling on Easter day, so we may do some early egg coloring this weekend. I did a lot of cooking and baking today. At the beginning of every week I try to make some easy grab snacks and meals. I just have to share this recipe because these muffins are delicious and remind me a lot of scones. I added lemon peel, fresh lemon juice and replaced the vanilla with lemon extract. So good!

I'm making cabbage rolls in the crock pot today (I am still off the grains, so these are rice free). The whole house smells of deliciousness. I can hardly wait.

This little fellow is beyond grabby. He likes to assist me as I drink my water, talk on the telephone and even take a photo. There is nothing he won't try to help with if he is on my hip. Please Mom, allow me to assist you with you with my diaper. If only, right? Also, he's all about the feet these days. Built in fun!
