Girls will be girls

Leaving Georgia will mean leaving behind this great family that we've become so fond of. Piper and her kindred spirit, Isabelle celebrated their friendship with a real tea (OJ) party this weekend. These girls run, fight and get dirt under their fingernails, but when the tea set comes out, it's all lovely conversation and pinkies up. By the way, these cupcakes are from Back in the Day Bakery and I dare say, they are the best I've ever had!

Between random leaps and finding this in the playroom, it's pretty clear we've been watching the Olympics.

Comfort

This morning I found myself clearly remembering the things that transpired just a year ago. If my memories are so vivid, I can only imagine the pain my sister and brother in law are experiencing today. Please say a prayer of comfort for my family today as we morn the loss of Kellen.

Curry

I'm always looking for a way to spice up our vegetables without too much extra work. We tried this vegetable curry for lunch. It was pretty quick and delectable. It even received kid approval! Also, avocado is my number 1, absolute favorite food (as far as food in it's simplest form goes). Although it was not on the list of ingredients, it basically goes with and on everything.

Today is Piper's 4th Birthday. That's right, count them. Broc and I are regularly amazed that we've come this far without damaging one, let alone two children. I am so thankful for Piper. She is very loving, so smart and best of all the finniest kid I know.  My opinion is biased I realize, but I really think she is sometimes!
I wanted to find a way to celebrate this special morning before church, so I decided on making her a very colorful, sprinkley (Piper's word) breakfast in bed. It went so well, that we may have to make it a birthday tradition.
On a side note, Piper has been telling me for months now that she is going to try to do a somersault when she turns four. As though the courage required is going to magically appear at the ripe age of four. While we were getting ready to go this morning, I asked her if she could show me her somersault now. She replied "I think *long pause* when I'm five"
